Bougainvillea

Description

Bougainvillea is a genus of thornu ornamental vines belonging to the Nyctaginaceae family, native to eastern South America. It has clusters of flowers in purple or white. Place the Bougainvillea in a sunny but protected spot on a terrace, balcony or in a conservatory.

Water regularly during the summer, without over watering. Ensure the pot has drainage holes for surplus water to drain.The Bougainvillea should be fertilized every two weeks. Cut back any long new shoots to keep the Bougainvillea compact and remove dead flowers. The Bougainvillea is not winter hardy.
