Dipladenia

Description

The Dipladenia (AKA Mandevilla) is a variety of tropical and subtropical flowering vines that belong to the Apocynaceae family. These species are native to Southwestern USA, Mexico, Central and South America. The flowers come in white, pink and red. As a vine, Dipladenias can be trained against a wall or a trellis.

When placed in a sunny or partly shaded spot, and pruning the long-grown shoots, it will flower all summer long. Keep the compost moist, without overwatering, and fertilize every two weeks with a standard fertilizer. Remove faded flowers and seed pods. The Dipladenia is not winter hardy.
